Mountains

The mountains are where I feel most myself and at home.

I spent six months in the Himalayas of Northern India, where I developed my strongest foundation in high-altitude mountaineering. During this period I completed multiple multi-day and multi-week expeditions, operating at elevations up to 5,600m in remote and demanding environments- teaching me a lot about my own body’s capabilities.

Alongside the Himalayas, I have spent time in the Andes of South America, the Atlas mountians in Morocco, and travelled extensively through the Alps. Each range has added another layer to my understanding of movement, weather, and decision-making in mountain terrain; as well as opening my eyes to different cultures and traditions of groups of people living in such areas.

Outside of mountaineering, I snowboard, which has deepened my comfort and confidence in winter environments and variable mountain conditions.

This year, my focus will be deepening my knowledge of my home mountains in the Scottish Highlands- over the winter period I plan on spending my time ice climbing and snowboarding.  My long-term goal is to qualify as an International Mountain Leader and work professionally in expedition and mountain guiding environments.
